Program Benefits
The scholarship program is based on developmental activities which will enhance progress to higher levels within cricket. Scholarships are offered for a twelve-month period, and scholarship athletes are expected to attend these sessions in addition to club and representative commitments.
The benefits of an Academy Cricket Scholarship includes exposure to high quality coaching from the region’s leading coaches, individualised skill and technical training, sports science and video analysis, camps and tours, fitness testing, uniforms, cricket-specific education sessions, and personal development activities in areas including sport psychology, drugs awareness and nutrition.
Coaching sessions are held at venues throughout the Southern Councils Group. In 2011 it is anticipated that there will be five weekend sessions throughout the cricket off-season, along with an end-of-program tour and trial matches.
